This hike is one of those simple but magical experiences, where you don’t need to go far or climb high to feel deeply connected to nature. It starts near Haghartsin Monastery, hidden in the forests of Dilijan National Park.
From the very beginning, we enter the forest and stay with it the whole way. It’s a soft, easy walk, surrounded by trees, fresh air, and constant small discoveries. This area is incredibly rich in biodiversity - every few steps there is something new to notice: plants, textures, sounds, little details that make you slow down and look around.
About halfway through, the trail comes close to the river. Here, something interesting happens - mineral springs flow into the river, slightly changing its color. It’s subtle but visible, and adds a special character to the place.
The waterfall truly lives up to its name. You reach it… but you don’t see it at first. Only when you get very close, it suddenly reveals itself. It gently flows down through the rocks, not very high - around 2.5 meters - but very alive and beautiful. In spring, when the water is full, it becomes especially powerful.
There is a spot near the waterfall where you can enter the river. The water is very cold, even in summer, but incredibly refreshing. It’s one of those moments that wakes you up completely.
After the hike, we visit Haghartsin Monastery - a place with beautiful architecture, quietly standing in the forest, holding centuries of history.
To finish the day, we go to a local home, where you can experience the culture in a real way - through food, stories, and connection with people who live here.
