We start our hike from Parz Lake, hidden in the forests of Dilijan National Park. “Parz” means clear in Armenian, and the lake really lives up to its name, calm, quiet, surrounded by trees.
From the first steps, we enter the forest. The trail goes through dense greenery, where we can see many kinds of flowers, mushrooms, and hear birds all around us. It’s not just a hike, it’s a full nature experience where you notice small details.
In the middle of the hike, we go slightly up, and the forest opens for a moment, giving us a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains and fields. Then we continue again through the forest, slowly getting closer to Gosh village.
As we approach the village, we reach a point where the view opens from above, and we can see Gosh village and Goshavank monastery from a distance.
We finish at Goshavank monastery, a peaceful historical place named after Mkhitar Gosh, an Armenian scholar and thinker who created a code of laws. The monastery carries a very special atmosphere, quiet, strong, and full of history.
After the hike, we will visit a local place, where we will spend some time with locals, experience their everyday life, and learn more about the culture and traditions of the area.
This is an easy and very beautiful hike, perfect for enjoying nature without rushing.
